This song was sang by the cathedral choir recently at my Nana's funeral. It is seriously the most beautiful song i've ever heard, i cannot listen to it without breaking down, but it does remind me of what an amazing woman she was, how strong she was, how beautiful, how much of an inspiration she is to me and how i live me life, and how much i will miss her dearly, not a day goes by without me thinking of her grace and now everything i do, I'm doing it for her to make her proud. ♥ xx
This makes me think of my Grandma, as well. She saw me perform this with my college choir in 1993,andsaid that it was the most beautiful song that she had ever heard. She was theater and speech teacher for a high school. She said, when hearing this, that she knew what the angels would sound like, when she got to heaven.
It's a amazing song.. it touch your heart, it touch your mind and it touch your soul. I'm singing in a choir, so I know different kinds of Ave Maria's.. but this one.. I haven't enough words.. I can hear it every day, every hour and every minute.. So that means a lot.. The choir is also amazing.. Their voices are perfect connected to each other.. Their voices are one.. and when it sounds like one voice it is perfect..
As I listen to this fantastic choir I am looking at the Sienese masterpiece of the "Annunciation," painted by Simone Martini in 1333. Reminds me that there is hope for all of us.
What an amazing blend! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! To those who are concerned with the pronunciation of the Latin, it has to do with accents! If you listen to the choir that sang for the movie Les Choristes, their Latin has a distinctly French tinge to it. It's still lovely; you just know where everyone's from. Such is the beauty of music! The overtones are sick. What a gorgeous rendition. Congratulations to the choir and their director.
I was new in my choir, and when the others started to sing it, i almost cried... its beautiful, moving, relaxing, emotional, and it sais everything it wants to... i'm so glad that now i know it too :)
Well done, ladies!! This is one of my top favorite choral settings. I've sung it many, many times, and it has always choked me up on the inside. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift with the rest of us, out here! With young women, such as you, you should be on pedestals! :-)
The angels have sung! Glory to Our Almighty God! Glory to the most Holy Virgin St Mary! Glory to the Holy Birth of Our Lord JESUS! THANK YOU for this Beauty of Human Voice and Musical Arrangement! God bless your Lives! Allelluia!
For me the ultimate recording of this work is the version by Voces8. It brings tears to my eyes every time. This is what heavenly singing must be like.!
What a beautiful offering to give to the Mother of God. Thank you young ladies for this edifying music that lifts the soul to be closer to heaven! God bless you. I hope you all still get a chance to sing together, I know this was some time ago.
This is the Angelus in song -A Catholic prayer said at 6am,12 noon and 6pm "The Angel of the Lord Declared unto Mary and she conceived of the Holy Ghost" followed by the Hail Mary then "Mary said""Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to Thy word" ..Hail Mary..then "and the Word(Jesus Christ)was made flesh and dwelt amongst us" followed by a final Hail Mary. Astoundingly beautiful made perfect because of its subject matter! Ave Maria!
I am not even necessarily religious, but I agree with the words you are saying. I don't claim to know what/who is, but I am eternally grateful for every living being that has been graced upon this earth. It seem so simple, I just wish the whole world understood peace as well...
This has to be the only piece that affects me like it does! I have never heard a womens chorus do this piece! It brought me to tears! I have done this piece, I was the tenor 1 soloist! And I have to say, from doing this, you did this song justus! Beibl would be very proud to have you ladies sing this song! God Bless you all!
I think this is the Pro Musica Girl's Choir, from the same institution the Cantemus mixed choir comes from. I love these sopranos! We're talking sound that's crystal glass pure. I think I like the men's version, but what a great recording this is!
In all fairness, the tuning is quite good considering the size of the group and the acoustics of that building. Dealing with high ceilings, hard walls and hard floors, then having part of the group above and behind the others all make for some challenging listening for those girls. It's certainly not a wonder to me why they would need a conductor. And some of them are very cute. That's nice too. ;-)
@meerock : the thing about the pronounciation is understandable because for women, they have to widen their vowels when singing their high notes or they will sound screechy and such
each to his own, trust me i love the men's version too and Chanticleer singing it but you have to at least give these women props for the ranges they're dealing with and the dead on accuracy of intonation they have
i think the Latin is exceptional, no hard T sound the nice transition of the rolling of the R and phrashing of the Latin vowels, They sound as if their native language was a Latin language
@guitarcat333 Sounds like the other versions I've heard of it. 'Sides, it makes life a lot easier if you get a clear beat and cue from the conductor at the beginning. Sometimes you have the one or two sopranos not paying attention and come in late.
You can hear it live, sung by female voices directed by Patrick Craig, this Saturday 15 February 2020. Southwell Minster (Nottinghamshire, UK) 17.30h. BIG EVENSONG in aid of Alzheimer’s Society
The low alto's are absolutely incredible. Wow
I got chills❤

Rarely am I moved to tears by anything on youtube. This one of those rare exceptions. How sublime; how otherworldly; how exquisitely perfect.
I’m in a community girls choir and my high school choir.
In my community girls choir, we have this piece and hearing this is just beautiful ❤😭
It's a amazing song.. it touch your heart, it touch your mind and it touch your soul. I'm singing in a choir, so I know different kinds of Ave Maria's.. but this one.. I haven't enough words.. I can hear it every day, every hour and every minute.. So that means a lot..

The past two years I've spent many hours searching the internet for as many Ave Maria versions as I can find, this is one of my favourites.
I ONLY found it, thanks to the Halo App.
Wish these ladies had a DVD of their performances. Exceptionally beautiful...
Actually they do. They are the Pro Musica Girls' Choir from Hungary. You can find their Christmas Collection containing this track on the net.
As I listen to this fantastic choir I am looking at the Sienese masterpiece of the "Annunciation," painted by Simone Martini in 1333. Reminds me that there is hope for all of us.
What an amazing blend! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Words cannot do this music and this performance justice. This is the most moving Ave Maria I've ever heard!
I was new in my choir, and when the others started to sing it, i almost cried... its beautiful, moving, relaxing, emotional, and it sais everything it wants to... i'm so glad that now i know it too :)
Amazing and again amazing. I love this song sooo much! Goosebumps all over...

Awesome - my favorite Ave Maria!
Wonderful music! When you listen to music as good as this, if you ever doubted the truth, you know that God lives!
Kim Baggen....I sang this with my choir in 1993, and I will never forget it. I loved hearing the voices around me. It was beautiful.
Yep. This is one of those pieces, a joy to listen to and even more of a joy to perform.
OMG.. I really now see your reaction..

I believe there are days when the angels come down to be among us. To give us hope. This was one such day. Thank you, dear angels.
The angels have sung! Glory to Our Almighty God! Glory to the most Holy Virgin St Mary! Glory to the Holy Birth of Our Lord JESUS! THANK YOU for this Beauty of Human Voice and Musical Arrangement!
God bless your Lives! Allelluia!
I cannot get enough of this performance. This must be what Heaven sounds like.
Extraordinary.. such beauty in musical form. Praise God for this creation!

This is the best rendition I have ever heard. The choir is superb, and the director brought the score into the ethereal.
Never better said!!!
透明感溢れる
For me the ultimate recording of this work is the version by Voces8. It brings tears to my eyes every time. This is what heavenly singing must be like.!
I, too, love that recording. However, this beautiful range of female voices is sublime.
I love it, the best Version I've ever heard.❤❤❤

Thank you so much for a lovely performance. What stunning acoustics!
Super idea to have Choir II upstairs! Girls are gifted.
These voices are so angelic. I loved just closing my eyes and listening! :D Thank you!
綺麗な歌声で心が洗われるようですね。
bellissima esecuzione, intonazione perfetta e tempi giusti. Proprio una preghiera e non una canzone. Buono il latino
This is the most beautiful recording i've ever heard... so pure and touching :))
Felicidades, bellas, expresivas y nítidas voces húngaras femeninas ! AMGD
Really Amazing...
@TheFlutegirl15
Probably just for uniformity. In our choir we keep our hands by our sides, but different choirs do it different ways.
I think this is the Pro Musica Girl's Choir, from the same institution the Cantemus mixed choir comes from. I love these sopranos! We're talking sound that's crystal glass pure. I think I like the men's version, but what a great recording this is!
That is right, that is them indeed..
i agree. i would have loved to hear dynamics with his excellent all women choir
It went fantastic!!! Such an amazing experience.
excellent clean and in tune
Beautifully sung.

Absolutely beautiful.
i loved it! most vids posted up are flat! lmfao. but i loved the soloist's voive as well!
The most beautiful Ave Maria I have heard in my life!
Every arrangement of this is moving. It is a little faster than other versions I have heard, but that doesn't ruin it for me.
When I listen this piece...I leave my mind blow...
Amazing.
this is great. voices of angels
Stunning!

Perfeita :D
@gabeuop79
The color of the dresses doesn't depend on the phrase. somebody gots a darker dress, other a lighter.. it goes just so simple :)
each to his own, trust me i love the men's version too and Chanticleer singing it
but you have to at least give these women props for the ranges they're dealing with and the dead on accuracy of intonation they have
Son unas angelitas
i think the Latin is exceptional, no hard T sound the nice transition of the rolling of the R and phrashing of the Latin vowels, They sound as if their native language was a Latin language
Hermoso!
Actually probably 7 part women's chorus.
I have it for my choir. First choir is SAT and Second choir is SATB.
a heavenly song
How beautiful
@guitarcat333 Sounds like the other versions I've heard of it.
'Sides, it makes life a lot easier if you get a clear beat and cue from the conductor at the beginning. Sometimes you have the one or two sopranos not paying attention and come in late.

I agree, it should probably have been slower. especially toward the beginning.
